PM Modi Calls Women ‘Biggest Strength’ During Bihar Poll Interaction
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday described women as the biggest strength, inspiration, and shield of his political journey. Speaking virtually with BJP workers from Bihar via the NaMo app, the Prime Minister asked a woman booth worker to call him bhaiya (brother) instead of sir, emphasizing his personal bond with women voters.
He expressed confidence that Bihar will celebrate two Diwalis this year — one for the festival itself and another on November 14, the day of the assembly election results, which he believes will mark the NDA’s victory.
‘Double Diwali’ for Bihar: PM Predicts NDA’s Win
PM Modi said that Bihar is in a festive mood, and women will play a decisive role in ensuring the NDA’s success.
“This time, Bihar is going to have a double Diwali,” Modi said. “People have already celebrated Diwali during Navratri after GST relief. The next celebration will be on November 14, when the NDA wins again. Bihar’s sisters and daughters will make it possible.”
He encouraged women voters to participate in groups, sing songs, and beat thalis as part of the “festival of democracy.”
PM Modi’s New Slogan for Bihar Elections
PM Modi urged BJP workers to visit every household and spread awareness about the welfare schemes introduced by both the Central Government and the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.
He gave a new slogan for the upcoming polls:
“Ekjut NDA, Ekjut Bihar – Isse Banegi Sushashan Ki Sarkar”
(United NDA, United Bihar – Together We’ll Form a Good Governance Government)
The Prime Minister also reminded the youth about the “jungle raj” era, referring to the period when Naxalism and lawlessness dominated Bihar. He advised party workers to take young voters to exhibitions showcasing the atrocities of that time, helping them understand the progress achieved under NDA rule.
Prashant Kishor Steps Back from Contesting Elections
In a separate development, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor announced that he will not contest the Bihar assembly elections. He said this decision was made in the party’s long-term interest.
Kishor mentioned that if Jan Suraaj wins less than 150 seats, it would be seen as a setback. However, he added that a strong performance could reshape India’s political direction.
Political rivals, including the BJP, JD(U), and RJD, mocked Kishor’s move, claiming he had realized defeat before the polls.
-
The RJD said he had “accepted defeat before entering the battlefield.”
-
The BJP remarked, “Businessman Kishor knew he could not win.”
-
The JD(U) called the move “a humiliation for his party workers.”
Top Leaders File Nominations for Bihar Assembly Polls
On Wednesday, several key political figures submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming Bihar elections.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, representing the INDIA bloc, filed his nomination from Raghopur, expressing confidence that voters will give him a third consecutive win.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, a senior BJP leader, filed his papers from Lakhisarai, aiming for a fourth term. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was present during the filing.
Meanwhile, JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar released the first list of 57 candidates, while the BJP announced its second list of 12 names, bringing its total to 83. The list includes folk singer Maithili Thakur, contesting from Alinagar.
Additionally, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, released a list of 15 candidates, including Raju Tiwari, who aims to reclaim the Govindpur seat.
Bihar Set for a Festival of Democracy
As Bihar heads toward its assembly elections, the political atmosphere is electric.
PM Modi’s call for unity, women’s participation, and digital awareness reflects the NDA’s strategy of inclusive governance and grassroots mobilization.
The November 14 election results will reveal whether Bihar indeed celebrates a “Double Diwali”, as predicted by the Prime Minister.
