As the Bihar Assembly elections campaign heats up, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Khagaria, sharply criticizing the INDIA bloc for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Shah emphasized that all infiltrators would be identified, removed from voter lists, and deported, highlighting the NDA’s focus on law, order, and electoral integrity. He stated that the upcoming elections will decide whether Bihar returns to a period of ‘jungle raj’ or continues on the path of development under stable leadership.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his election campaign from Karpoorigram, reiterating that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is expected to deliver a strong electoral performance. Modi’s endorsement reinforced Kumar’s leadership and the unity of the NDA alliance, presenting a clear contrast to the opposition.
Shah directly addressed the opposition, asserting that political campaigns cannot protect infiltrators. Every illegal entry into the state will be tracked, removed from voter lists, and deported, reinforcing the NDA’s strict stance on security and governance. This message also emphasized the importance of transparent and fair elections in Bihar.
The opposition INDIA bloc has nominated Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate, creating a key contest in the elections. The campaign narrative revolves around development versus governance, law and order, and the handling of infiltration and security issues.
The Bihar Assembly elections have become a battleground for political narratives, leadership credibility, and electoral integrity, with the NDA stressing development, law enforcement, and security, while the opposition focuses on alternative governance models. These elections will be a crucial indicator of voter sentiment and the future political landscape of Bihar.
